A bile duct cyst is a problem with the tubes (ducts) that carry bile from your child's liver to the gallbladder and intestines. The fallopian tubes become larger than normal (dilated) or pockets form in the fallopian tubes. This prevents bile from circulating properly, which can lead to liver problems. The treatment for a bile duct cyst is surgery. The goal is to remove the cyst and allow a good flow of bile from the liver to the small intestine.
